Just lots of stuff

I've been neglecting the blog again... so I have lots of things to share.

Firstly, how does tinkerbell take all these pictures with little kids without flashing her chocha?


I got to go on a field trip with Breckyn and her class to Oak Glen. They had a petting zoo and a special visit from Johnny Appleseed. We tried 30 different kinds of apples and came home with some pumpkin butter. Yummy! It was so fun to see her among her little school chums.





We went to the BYU game in San Diego. It was SOOOO much fun! We sat super close to the field right by Mrs. Pitta and Mrs. Hall. The girls had a blast sitting on the nice clean bleacher ground and coloring the entire time. The sun was pretty fierce but we managed. BYU won too, so that is always good.





We started the fabulous 13 days of Halloween with a fun Halloween garland. I basically cut everything up and the girls had fun creating the faces and parts. Yes, clothing is always optional in our home.







For other Halloween activities we did our shrunken apple heads. Maybe I'll post a pic when they look super scary. We also picked out pumpkins and today the girls made Halloween cards to send to Grandparents. So fun!!



We are having a small Halloween birthday party for Kyra this year and I thought my invitations turned out cute! I just copied them from somewhere online, sorry I can't find where it was.





Whew! So that is it for now. I'm sure I'll have to post some more about our upcoming Halloween adventures...

A few of my Favorite Things

My blog has been lacking a lot lately. I've just felt uncreative and too busy with regular life to come up with interesting blogs. I don't know if this will be interesting to anyone, but I'm always interested to see what other people are in to. So maybe I'll do this once in a while. We'll see.

I've got a weakness. It is little girl clothes. I'll admit, if I love something I'll usually get it, no matter the cost. Yes, it is a weakness, but man my girls dress cute and I love it. Sorry Mom, sis, Grandpa Brown and all my frugal friends. It is my worldly side. Sue me.

When I saw this dress I immediately thought Christmas dress. My girls have to have matching Christmas dresses and I think this might be the one. LOVE.

Now I just have to get out how much I love these boots


Maybe a little more practical and versatile I'd settle for these booties. Breckyn needs something besides sandals to wear to school now that the weather has cooled off a bit. These may have to be it.




I found everything here in the Hanna Andersson catalog that came in the mail recently, also online here. The Minnetonka boots are cheaper at other venues though, like this one.

Move over Snow White

Ryder has a new crush. He was quite smitten with Snow White last year but yesterday when he met Tinkerbell... I think he forgot all about Snow White.



We first met Rosetta and he stood there staring at her with the silliest grin on his face. Then we turned the corner and there was Tinkerbell. We couldn't hold him back. He was in her arms in no time and we literally had to pry him away from her.





So I was worried about Breckyn getting chased by boys, but now I'm a little worried about Ryder chasing all the girls!!

The past few days we've been hearing stories of boys chasing Breckyn on the playground. She says she is soooo fast that they usually can't catch her. Well, today Ryan D. caught her and according to Breckyn he has now "fallen in love" with her... Is this supposed to happen in kindergarten???

All about Breckyn

My little one started kindergarten yesterday! Definitely bittersweet. She was absolutely beaming as she explored her new classroom and saw all the little future friends she would make running around. Kyle and I, well we had to choke back some emotion but we did alright.



Breckyn has a shy side but I think she has been ready for something more to stimulate her little mind and I know she will thrive there and make lots of new friends.



I was absolutely dreading this day a few months ago but then new options opened up and things fell into place and now I feel at peace and happy about it. We have a bit of a drive each day but to me it is completely worth it.



Breckyn's teacher gave us this poem with a tissue attached as we left her yesterday. I loved it.

The cat is out of the bag...

So, we might as well disclose our little secret.

-We are expecting #4 in March
-This was an unexpected surprise for us
-It is amazing how fast you can go from completely panic stricken to 'Yipee!'
-We will have a 5 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old and newborn (!!!!!!!!)
-Please pray for us ;) (sort of joking... but not really)

Summer Vacation by Kyle

For summer vacation we did the three things necessary to be happy:

We climbed Mt. Timpanogos, 15 mile round trip, 5500 elevation change, tougher than many 14er's in my opinion!

Gone fishin'

On Kyle's day off this week we packed up and headed off for a great day of fly fishing. We went to a beautiful creek Kyle's boss told us about. Kyle was in heaven, of course. I married a fisherman.


The girls and I had fun playing in the water and hiking around. I was so proud of Breckyn when she hunted down a snake with no fear. She is so my kid.

Kyra preferred to spend her time observing, while Breckyn and I wanted to explore and hunt snakes. However, I was happy she did a lot of the hiking without being carried this time. Here she is perched on her rock.


Ryder seemed 100% content just taking it all in from Kyle's back. He watched Kyle's every move very intently. I think he'll be ready to do some fly fishing by himself next time.
