My Grandpa Brown. Isn't he so cute?

He made this dollhouse for me when I was probably 6 years old. I loved it and played with it everyday.
I broke it in some places. It used to have stairs off the porch and little doors with real tiny hinges.
It had little windows that all fell off. This wallpaper is the same that was in my room when I was a little girl.
The attic door is still there. Isn't it so cute?
I can't even imagine how long it took my Grandpa to make this. For me. I still feel special because he did that.
I've now passed it on to my girls'. I cringe a little when they play with it because it is so delicate and fragile, but I'd rather them play with it and beat it up a little more than have it sit in the closet gathering dust. I think my Grandpa would be pleased.

it's beautiful! what a gift and now your girls get to appreciate it too! what a gem!!!
I absolutely love your doll house. What a precious heirloom. My grandpa gave me a book that you make cardboard airplanes out of. after I made a few, I saved the rest all of these years. Now Nathan is wanting to make the planes. It was hard at first to give up since I knew the airplanes wouldn't last, but it has been fun making them together and then watching him and Ben enjoy them. It's funny that i ran into this post today because, just this morning, Nathan asked to make another airplane and, my first reaction was a little cringe, but it was immediately replaced by the thought that it's better to watch your kids enjoy this special thing than to watch it collect dust on the shelf. He's been having fun with his latest plane all day. If I ever have a girl, i would love to make her a doll house like yours. Thanks for sharing. It's so cute. hope all is going well for you guys.

I love your blog!
This is precious, And because it is important to you, I bet your kids will be extra careful with it!!
Your kids are appreciative and careful. They are so attentive to their papers they make on sunday!!
I noticed Breckyn was extra attentive to her paper she made in primary!
what an amazing gift... that's something you can always cherish and I'm sure your girls and their girls... will love to have the same memories of playing with it as you did! how sweet!! :)
That is so neat that you have this doll house that was made for you by your grandpa and that your girls can now play with it. It will be a great memory for all of you! It's especially cool that the wall paper is the same as your old room.
I Love it! You are so fortunate but you already know that! You have an amazing family and now you're passing everything (not just the toys) onto your children!
